The mission of the Ukrainian Contemporary Music Festival is to bring the exciting variety of compositions by living Ukrainian composers into dialogue with New York City’s vibrant new music scene. Although Ukrainian culture and music is informed by a rich diversity of peoples, languages, and traditions, it is little known outside of Ukraine itself and even less well-known as a network of styles and approaches connected by the land from which it comes. The festival puts Ukrainian music into the hands of American musicians and into the ears of American audiences.
