Sustainability

We stand for sustainability of Ukraine by providing critical aid and resources to those affected by the ongoing invasion. Our mission is to support recovery, resilience, and hope for a brighter future.

In recent times, USA for Ukraine had purchased 2 humanitarian trash trucks for Izyum’s community because local residents urgently needed them to address the growing waste management crisis caused by the devastation of war and the theft of all the special equipment from the city. With damaged infrastructure, uncollected waste is accumulating, posing serious health and environmental risks to residents. Trash trucks are essential for restoring sanitation, preventing the spread of diseases, and supporting the city's recovery efforts.

USA for Ukraine is currently planning better and cleaner water infrastructure systems for a variety of cities in Ukraine.

On April 12, 2022, as a result of Russian shelling, the Dnipro-Mykolaiv water main was damaged, as a result of which the centralized water supply was stopped for almost a month. Starting in May 2022, Mykolaiv began to fill the city's water supply system with technical water from the Southern Buh River. Now, for almost 3 years, the city has been without a centralized supply of drinking water. Water is supplied from the Ingulets River.

At the moment, there are about 250 distribution points of drinking filtered water in the city, where residents can come with their containers and collect it to fulfill their basic needs. Water is in these points either from underground sources or wells, or it is brought from other cities.

The restoration of a new water intake and water main in Mykolaiv is not just the repair of pipes and stations, it is an investment in stability and development of the city during the full-scale invasion in Ukraine.
